At RippleNami, our mission is to bring the uncharted into focus, and Brikama, The Gambia, is the latest community to be mapped into the global digital landscape. As part of our ongoing Africa 360 View initiative, our team of RippleNami Certified Street-Level Imagery Practitioners (CSIP) is actively on the ground capturing streets, roads, and neighborhoods in high-quality 360-degree imagery for publication on Google Street View.
To date, our team has successfully mapped over 150 km of Brikama's streets, and the work is far from over. The mapping effort is ongoing, with our team systematically navigating and documenting the area to ensure comprehensive coverage. Alongside Brikama, we are also actively covering Sukuta, expanding the digital footprint of The Gambia one community at a time.
Mapping a place like Brikama is more than a technical exercise it is a commitment to a community. Our team navigates streets of all kinds, from wide main roads to narrow residential lanes, ensuring that no area is left behind. Every kilometer captured represents a street that can now be found, explored, and recognized by anyone in the world with an internet connection.
The process requires precision, consistency, and a deep respect for the communities we work in. Our team coordinates closely to cover ground efficiently while being mindful of the neighborhoods and people around them.
With 150 km mapped and more ground to cover, our team remains dedicated to completing a thorough and accurate representation of Brikama and the surrounding areas including Sukuta. This is part of RippleNami's broader commitment to mapping the uncharted across Africa ensuring that no community is invisible to the digital world.
Stay tuned for further updates as we continue our work on the ground in The Gambia.
